Grassland Research
Institute Of Xinjiang Academy of Animal Science
was funded by government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region in
March 1979, is a pratacultural research institution in the
area of scientific research, production and technical
extension. The research area include the grassland resources
ecosystem, pasture utilization and improvement and forage
cultivation and breeding. There are pratacultural technical
development office, animal husbandry consultative center,
Fukang agricultural grassland ecological station, Hutubi xero-plants
- Ceratodies Latens seeds production base and Jianglv
Pratacultural Development Company. The institute has 66
research staff in the area of grassland, animal husbandry,
plant protection, biology, bio-chemical, vegetation, ecology,
computer, nature geography etc. Among them, there are 18
people gained a senior technical post, 27 with secondary
technical post, 3 people received the title of excellent
expertise from Autonomous Region and 1 person enjoys the
government special allowance. Up to date, the institute has
carried and completed more than 100 projects which was
organized by National, Ministry of Agricultural and local
departments and bureau. Received 70 more prizes from National,
Province and Ministry. Published more than 400 academic
theses. Introduced experts from Australia, America, Russia,
New Zealand, German and Japan for cooperation and information
exchange. Send the experts go abroad for an on-the-spot
investigation and training. The institute contributed their
best to promote the science and technical to serve the
production, social, socialism market economy and animal
husbandry construction.

technical extension service in the institute are as follow:
Grassland
ecological and maintenance of system functions:
Nature pasture
utilization and improvement method; grassland ecology and productivity
monitoring through 3S technique, vegetation recovery and regeneration technique.
Grassland
agricultural:
Integrated high
efficiency animal husbandry development technique, forage introduction, breeding
and good harvest cultivation method and seeds (include turf seeds) production
skill.
Science and technical consulting and technical service
Animal
husbandry engineer consultant and program design, turf and green land
establishment and maintains, forage seeds deal, training of animal husbandry and
turf establishment.
